When New York University's winning streak reached 14 games, it was the longest winning streak by a Eastern college basketball game in over 30 years. When N.Y.U. met C.C.N.Y. in last game of 1933-'34 season, the winner would be the first undefeated team in the metropolitan area in 25 years and first for N.Y.U. since 1907. The 27 straight wins was an Eastern college record at this time.
