History:
  Long Island College Hospital was founded in 1858.
  L.I.C.H. introduced bedside teaching in medical instruction in 1860.
  Introduced the stethoscope and early use of anesthesia.
  1930 - Long Island College of Medicine became separate medical school, L.I.C.H. became hospital affiliate.
  1954 - Became part of State University of New York.
  L.I.C.H. is the primary teaching affiliate of SUNY-Downstate Medical Center (SUNY Health Science Center of Brooklyn)
