• The 1949 Pythian Bowl.was also called the Olympian Bowl. The Pythian Bowl was renamed the Lions Bowl for 1952.
• There are high school rivalries called the Lions Bowl. These include the following rivalries Tullahoma H.S. v. Shelbyville Central HS in Tennessee, Delmar HS v. Laurel HS in Delaware, From 1960 to 1983 there was a high school post-season Lions Bowl in Watertown, ALabama, from 1972 to 1996 there was an annual Lions Bowl between high school teams in Tullahoma, Alabamsa.
