•While George Mac Monigle's Blue Devils of Coney Island were called the Brooklyn Blue Devils by teams in New Jersey for years, the name was not officially changed to this until part way into the 1929 season.
•There were plans for a Metropolitan Professional Football League planned for 1930.
•The Brooklyn Giants would join the Newark Bears, the Orange A.C., Bayonne Vikings, Staten Island Stapes and Eddie Tryon's Wessingtons in formng the new league. The M.F.L. was not to be, the N.F.L. Brooklyn Dodgers would begin play in 1930.
